LITEROC is being manufactured in a state-of-the-art plant, strategically located at Kasaragod, in Kerala. It is Kerala’s first AAC Plant and it caters to all South Indian markets. Every batch manufactured, is tested at our lab for its compressive strength, precision in shape and size.

ALL ABOUT AAC

WHAT IS AAC?

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is an ecofriendly building material made from natural raw materials like fly ash, cement, lime, gypsum, aluminum powder and water. These raw materials are mixed and molded, usually in the form of blocks for construction purposes. Used for both exterior and interior construction, AAC’s insulating capacity and its easy installation has made it a favorite amongst Architects and the Construction Industry. It has been present in the global market for more than 80 years.

AAC blocks are used for various applications from residential to commercial and industrial buildings. It can tolerate all climatic conditions and has been used in Europe since 1920s with its market growing rapidly in USA, UK, Australia, China and many more countries.

WHY CHOOSE AAC?

Big in size. Low in weight- AAC blocks are big in size and yet lightweight, making them easy to install. They save a lot of steel in construction and have high-load bearing strength.

Energy Efficient -AAC blocks don’t need to be combined with insulating properties since they already have excellent natural thermal insulation, which makes them more cost-efficient.

Eco friendly- AAC products are made from natural materials and are certified as a green building material. Raw materials aren’t wasted in the production process. The blocks can be reused and recycled, making it gain an ecological reputation for its non-toxic and zero wastage properties.

Low Cost Compared to other building materials-AAC blocks are widely used because it is cost-efficient yet durable. It reduces the cost of construction, maintenance and insulation also reduce the time taken to construct a building due to its size and lightweight. It is a practical, high-quality option for builders and homeowners. When AAC blocks are used instead of traditional blocks, there will be a significant reduction in overall cost.

Sound Absorption- AAC is ideal for hotels, hospitals, commercial buildings and large households where there is a lot of sound pollution. These blocks act as a sound insulator for buildings and is a great option for a high traffic area.

Resistant to fire, earthquake, water and pests- AAC blocks are fire-resistant because of the air pockets within the blocks. AAC blocks have one of the highest hourly fire-resistance ratings and offer fire-resistance from a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 6 hours. The thermal conductivity helps maintain the temperature.

The lightweight of AAC blocks lead to higher steadiness and reduce the mass structure of a building which decreases the impact of an earthquake. When a normal block house collapses due to an earthquake, it causes a lot of damage due to the heavyweight. AAC blocks weigh almost one-fourth of laterite or other blocks and are even more durable, causing minimal damage in comparison to other blocks.

AAC blocks do not decompose in water, nor do they rust or rot. Since the AAC blocks use inorganic material, they are also resistant to pests and termites. Easy to use AAC blocks saves on manpower because of their size and lightweight, making assembling easier, this helps in quick construction work, you don’t have to wait for years for your building to be built. They are long-lasting, standing the test of time and look elegant and natural.
